This World Alzheimer’s Month, we are joining others in raising awareness of dementia both within AJS and beyond.
In order to support our growing client list, we have had several new staff join the business this year.
Like most companies, these new staff have undertaken Health & Safety training as part of a standard induction process.
Unlike most companies, our standard induction includes training to become a Dementia Friend, enabling staff to work sensitively around residents experiencing this challenging condition.
At AJS, high customer satisfaction is paramount. Bearing this in mind, and the fact that dementia is the UK’s biggest killer with 1 in 3 people born in the UK going on to develop dementia in their lifetime, we recognise that awareness around it is vital.
We want our staff to understand how this condition affects people and how we can help them by adapting our approach as we work around those impacted by it. Dementia Friendly training is a key part of that commitment.
