With World Alzheimer’s Day taking place on Sunday, and September dedicated as World Alzheimer’s Month, we are keen to join those raising awareness and understanding of Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia.
Key to delivering on this intention has been ensuring AJS staff are provided with training around dementia.
At AJS, we believe in being caring and considerate in our approach, which means truly understanding and respecting different needs and perspectives as we work. So, we are delighted that 48 of our team have undertaken Dementia Friends training through the Alzheimer’s Society, enabling us to be better equipped as we work around those experiencing dementia.
Sadly, everyone is likely to be affected by dementia in some way during their lifetime. In fact, it is the UK’s biggest killer, with someone in the UK developing dementia every 3 minutes. Therefore, it is vital that we raise awareness of this condition and do what we can to support those experiencing dementia.
